Takamul focuses on making the UAE one of the most innovative countries in the world by promoting the innovation cycle, from the generation of ideas to the practical implementation of these ideas into commercial activities that support Abu Dhabi economically and socially.
The innovation program was created in 2011 to support inventors and promote innovation across Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
Takamul’s primary activities and services include:
- IP awareness sessions
- Providing legal patentability opinions
- Providing financial support for the filing and prosecution of patent applications
- Support of patent commercialization
The program supports inventors from different categories and levels, including individuals, corporations and academic institutes. It aims to support:
- Inventors
- Entrepreneurs
- University students
- SMEs
- Startups
Takamul is initiated by the Competitiveness Office of Abu Dhabi (COAD), and among Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development’s (ADDED’s) various support programs and initiatives dedicated to SMEs in the Emirate.
